History in a bottle

These three marsala reserves, selected from the best twentieth century vintages, form a precious collection preserved in the austere vaults of the Florio Wine Cellars. Three types – sweet, dry and virgin – which represent three different expressions of the marsala soul, drenched in sensations and fragrances. For savouring slowly in meditation. The following vintage years are available: 1939, 1944 and 1963.

Riserva Aegusa

The most exclusive vintage

This refined and impressive vintage is filled with spicy and fruity sensations. Aegusa captivates with its amazingly persistent, complex mineral taste of liquorice root and burnt honey. A rare Florio Riserva, produced only with the best vintage of each decade, Aegusa rests in the stillness of the Florio Wine Cellars, maintaining the authenticity of single vintages. The following vintage years are available: 1941, 1952, 1964, 1974, 1989, 1994, 2001.

Donna Franca

A blend of different marsala wines, matured separately and selected after a careful evaluation of the evolution of all the vintages preserved in the Florio Wine Cellars, Donna Franca expresses high levels of elegance and complexity. It’s warm, smooth and enveloping taste makes it a profound meditation wine, but also a refined partner for desserts or a gourmet aperitif.

Baglio Florio

Baglio Florio is an elegant marsala whose amber liquid contains all the intensity and freshness of Grillo, fortified and rendered harmonious by ten years of ageing in the Florio Wine Cellars. Extraordinary as a meditation wine, astonishes as an aperitif with smoked fish or cheese.

The scent of orange peel characterises this traditional Amaro, much loved by connoisseurs and featuring a secret recipe. An infusion of thirteen herbs including roots, spices and citrus peel, offers a perfect end to a great meal or a moment of soothing pleasure.

Passito di Pantelleria

Natural passito wines

Made from quality Zibibbo grapes harvested on the island of Pantelleria and dried naturally by the sun. This modern wine, rich in nuances and excellent as a meditation drink, is superb with confectionery and, served cold, as an unusual aperitif.

Florio Spumante Brut

An unexpected Grillo

Elegant and pleasant, this lively modern wine, vinified with the Charmat method, has been created with Florio’s profound knowledge of Grillo grapes. Florio Spumante Brut is a sparkling wine with a multifaceted character, which releases its floral intensity on the nose and on the palate, where orange blossom sensations reveal Grillo’s legacy.

This wine, outstanding as a delicious meal finale or as an unusual aperitif, is made from grapes spread for days under the fiery late summer sun. The heart of the Mediterranean is enclosed in this Passito liqueur, sweet but also delightfully smooth on the palate thanks to hints of apricot and dried figs.

Liqueur wines

Fresh and smoothly enveloping, Grecale is a magnificent dessert wine. The grapes are partially fermented, then fortified with an excellent wine distillate, and then aged for several months, until this special nectar with its fragrant and fruity aroma is obtained, with hints of acacia honey and dried figs.
